How it Works
Venafi builds and delivers software drivers designed to connect with many of the most common certificate authorities (CAs), application servers, and enterprise monitoring systems for notification use cases. But if the Venafi Driver Library does not include the driver you need, you can use a Venafi Adaptable Driver. In fact, because they are customizable, you can use an Adaptable driver in place of an existing driver to provide tighter integration between your business processes and Certificate Manager, Self-Hosted.
The FortiGate Adaptable Application solution is capable of performing the discovery, enrollment and installation of certificates for FortiGate devices. The Onboard Discovery service performs an authenticated scan on the FortiGate device to identify certificates that are assigned to SSL Inspection Profiles as well as the SSL certificate used by the management interface portal. This process then creates certificate objects and associates the certificate object to adaptable application objects in Certificate Manager, Self-Hosted. Certificate Manager, Self-Hosted is now able to manage the full lifecycle of a certificate, including renewal and installation operations for the FortiGate device.
